Junior Year Schedule

Hey guys, I am currently a sophomore in high school. I am building my schedule for my junior year now. I am a little behind because I lived for some time in another country, but I moved back. My GPA is a 4.05 so far, I want to have impressive classes. So far I have,
-AP Language and Composition
-Honors Pre-Calc
-Honors US History
-Honors Chemistry
-Honors Spanish 51
-and a full year of Human Anatomy.

I could take AP Statistics and not take Human Anatomy but since I’m interested in pre-med, I don’t know if it would be more impressive than AP Stat. Any advice? Or class recommendations? Should i take APUSH instead of Honors US Hist???

You could always take AP Stats your senior year along with Calculus if you want to stick with science. Do you have a study hall? If so you can probably fit in APUSH, but it depends on your EC’s and you general study habits. Check around and see what others have said about the teachers. You could use that as a deciding factor if one is known to be really good/bad. Good luck!

Neither Human Anatomy nor AP Stats are “impressive” to colleges.
Human Anatomy isn’t especially related to premed (the premed requirements are not “medical” in any way, you just take regular college physics with physics majors, regular biology with biology majors… the trick that makes them premed is that you have to take them all AND rank at the top of your class against all these would-be majors.) Human Anatomy’s good if you want to go into a Physician Assistant major or Nursing.
AP Stats is a strong class for students who can’t or won’t take calculus - but statistics really needs to be taken in college.
For a junior who’d want the most rigorous schedule, here are some ideas:
-AP Language and Composition
-Honors Pre-Calc
-Honors US History => APUSH
-Honors Chemistry
-Honors Spanish 51 => Can you take AP Spanish? If not, make sure to take it next year

  • AP CS Principles or AP Psychology or doubling up in science with Honors Physics or AP Physics 1.

Yes that would basically be my schedule.
-Ap Language and Composition
-Honors US History
-Honors Chemistry
-Honors Spanish 51
-Ap Statistics

Anf then in senior year i would take

-AP English
-AP Psychology
-AP Bio
-Honors Physics
-AP Spanish
And then a civics (would count for history) course, maybe even an AP.
