How does "Personal Expenses" Work?

So if SFS gives us money for "personal expenses" included within the financial aid package, how do we actually get that money? And is it used only for books and school supplies? Or can we just use it for anything we want?

Would I first purchase the books, then show SFS the receipts? or would they give me money first?

Or is it just a monthly allowance or something? I'm just not really sure how this works.

thanks

Ok I know now lol. wow the search button on CC is amazing heheh.

care to share any links? i'm pretty confused about that as well

lol venkz, according to urbandictionary.com...
its psyched. all the rest are poor teenage misspellings.

. . . . and are strictly prohibited once you officially become Penn undergraduates.

hey so i have a question:
if we get an outside scholarhsip which takes away summer contribution AND workstudy, how would we get our workstudy money which was to be used for personal expenses and books?? do they directly give us a check or something?

no, they dont just give u the workstudy money. you have to work for hours each week and then get ur check. work study just means the govt pays 60% of the money u make.
just apply ur scholarship to other stuff and get a job once u get to campus anyway.
