How does petitioning for Credit from AP tests work?

<p>I clicked on the petition buttons in the Credit By Exam section of UT Direct, and all of them have been "pending approval" for 2 weeks now.</p>

<p>->How long does it usually take to petition for credits?</p>

<p>->Do I have to pay the $6 per hour first before they start the petitioning process?</p>

<p>->Does the fact that it is still summer affect how fast they are?</p>

<p>I was told to wait until after meeting with Academic Advisor before petitioning for credit and that the credits are good for ten (10) years. Also, it can affect your financial aid if you take credits and only a few classes. They have told me to meet my minimum credit with classes for financial aid. You should call or email them for answers and an update on the status.</p>
