How does Stanford determine SAT score?

I took the SAT last year and then again this October, but I sent in part 1 of the application before my October results were in. I just put down last year's scores, but one section on the October test was better than last year (verbal, math was much worse). Will they take the best of each or just last year's score because it's higher overall? Does a lower score the second time hurt my chances?

Same thing happened to me (verbal up, math way down). I called the admissions office and they said they will take the best two scores of whatever they recieve. So as long as you send your scores after getting your Oct. ones they will take the highest.

Thanks man, that helps. I hope they like me. And when everyone posts their SAT scores on this crazy website, do they generally report the combined highest of each section or their highest overall?

probably highest overall.
