My brother was accepted to FSU for the summer term of 2012.

He is attending.

He was wondering though, would he be able to go into the fall of 2012, after he completes his summer term?

Are summer students at a disadvantage when picking classes for the fall?

When will FSU post fall financial aid packages? He already received his summer aid package, but nothing for fall.

Any other info on summer would be helpful.

Thanks! I didn't know the answers, so I told him I will ask CC.

:)

Once he is accepted, he is accepted. He can take classes in the Fall just like any other student. His priority for class registration will be based on how many credits he has completed. There is no disadvantage to summer students.

Well, after winter comes spring. After spring comes summer. Then after summer, comes fall.

^Can’t tell if referencing Rebecca Black or Neil Diamond.

There is actually a SLIGHT disadvantage for Summer freshmen registering for Fall in that they have to wait until July, whereas other Freshmen can do so during their orientation (before July). He should still have no problem getting the classes he needs.

I think once they attend orientation they can register for summer as well as fall.
Hopefully he can get into all the classes he needs to. But I’m sure they have plenty on course sections for gen ed courses.

Also Sid seems to always have unhelpful and/or snarky comments on this forum.

Unless they changed it, you can only register for your summer classes at summer orientation.

My daughter started summer term last year. During orientation, she met with an advisor and then scheduled summer classes. She was not able to schedule fall classes until mid-July when registration re-opened again. Tell your brother to be persistent when scheduling his classes. Last year the system crashed the morning registration re-opened, which was frustrating. But over the next several days, my daughter kept checking the courses she wanted and was able to get what she needed. Also, he can pick up classes during drop/add the first week of fall semester.
