How does USC calculate GPA?

This question has been asked before but I've seen conflicting responses and don't believe USC has anything official on their website. Best I can tell, USC adds +1 for AP and Honors courses and only counts academic courses. Is that about right?

There was a response on one of the recent acceptance threads, but when in doubt just call admissions. That’s what they’re there for and you’ll get an official answer.

I posted info about that on another thread and unless it’s changed since my 2 toured and applied (in the past 2 years), that is correct (adds +1 for AP and Honors courses and only counts core courses). We were told that on the campus tour during the Admissions session and I also called Admissions at one point and verified it. There are specific courses they use- which you can review here: <a href=“Apply Now - Office of Undergraduate Admissions | University of South Carolina”>Apply Now - Office of Undergraduate Admissions | University of South Carolina;

Thanks, I did find some information in their material that confirmed what you posted in the other thread so I believe your info is correct!
