How does UW recalcualte GPA

First of all does UW recalculate GPA in the first place? and if so how do they do it?My uw GPA is quite low so im hoping that my GPA is bumped with uw’s recalculation.

Yes, they do. They factor out what they consider to be"fluff" courses that inflate GPA like the arts and whatnot.

thanks, i think that actually bumbs my GPA because for some reason i often do worse in fluff courses than the actually core classes.So basically any elective that isn’t part of the core curriculum (math,English,science,social studies etc.) is factored out right?

if it’s a college credit course, it is not factored out of GPA. a 5 credit math course is going to have the same weight as a 5 credit Humanities course.
