How Early is Early??

Everyone says "Apply early to school, it will get you a better chance in being accepted.", but how early should you apply by? I'm applying to University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Howard University, University of Miami, University of Florida, and now University of South Alabama and University of South Florida. When should I apply by? (I assume some will have admissions early in the summer) can I get transcripts from school anyway? Please share your wisdom :).

You’ve already missed the deadline to most of these schools. University of Miami was yesterday night, UF was in November. Florida State is coming soon. You’re definitely not applying early if you begin now, you’re actually pretty late all things considered. Get your transcripts in ASAP.

Applying earlier than the deadline is only really advantageous in rolling admissions.

EA and ED generally have higher acceptance rates, but when you apply for them is irrelevant.

Submitting your applications earlier removes the rush to complete them over winter break, thus making your break less miserable and more of a break and eliminating all the worrying over last-minute issues. The more time you give yourself before the deadline, the less stressful it will be.

You generally need to give your school a few weeks to get transcripts sent out, but these are also generally accepted slightly late.

I never said I was a senior…I’m a junior, and I’m attempting to get my dates for these schools figured out EARLY, thanks…

“Everyone says ‘Apply early to school, it will get you a better chance in being accepted.’”

They are wrong. RedSeven is correct: “Applying earlier than the deadline is only really advantageous in rolling admissions.”

By early I’m guessing they mean ED which is usualy Nov 1 or 15 but some have a Jan 1 ED II as well. In some places EA helps, but at some (ND, BC, Gtown) its harder to get in EA. I know UMiami has ED, so if that’s your top choice talk to your family and see if you can apply ED, which will help your chances, but if you get in, you’ll have to go there.
