How easy/hard is it to change majors at UCLA ?

<p>How easy/hard is it to change majors at UCLA from history to communication?
I took all the pre requisites at Santa Monica College for both
history and communication(media studies) for UCLA.
but i want to know : is it hard to switch from history to communication once i get into UCLA? i know its an impacted major. I also have a 4.0 average as for now.</p>

<p>what’s stopping you from applying directly to your preferred major: Communications instead of trying to be admitted under a subterfuge and then trying to transfer? After all, you have a 4.0 !!!</p>

<p>you should contact the Comm Studies dept and see if they will allow it. Some do not</p>

To change your major, you must contact the department whose program you want to attend. You will have an opportunity to do this at orientation. You should be aware, however, that not all departments permit advanced standing students to transfer into one of their majors.
