I've been thinking of changing my major from English Education to Biology.
How easy is it to change majors as an incoming transfer student?
Is CSULB flexible enough?

Going from an English major to a Biology major can be hard to change since Biology is an impacted major. Since you will be starting fresh (if you do decide to switch) it can be hard to get into classes and you’ll have to have patience. If you’re thinking about switching, you need to decide immediately because you will need to start signing up/take the lower division requirements (of all the Bio class that they require you to take) before you can take the upperdivison ones. Definitely talk to a counselor when you transfer/get there! At least that’s what i’m doing Hope this helps!

I agree with everything jkwan15 said. Definitely go see a counselor for more details!

I might be able to shed some light on this.

I originally was a Business Economics major (in the Liberal Arts School). After doing some research and setting some career goals, it became apparent that I was in the wrong major! I wanted to switch to Biz Admin option in FinancesSo I sent an email to an undergrad adviser through the link below yesterday…

and got a response the next morning. The undergrad adviser contacted The College of Business Administration and an adviser there requested that I fill out the following form…

I did so about an hour ago and sent an email to the CBA adviser. She almost instantaneously replied with the following…“I have just submitted an electronic adviser’s request, asking to change your major to Business Administration with Finance as your option. When it is processed by Enrollment Services, you will receive an email message.” and went on in the email with more information giving me the assumption that it was a foregone conclusion that the request will be accepted.

It may have been because I had a respectable overall GPA (3.5) and completed almost all of the pre-reqs for my new major at CC (with a 4.0 in these classes)

So like everyone else above me has stated, talk to an adviser. It is their job and from my personal experience, they are good at their job and reply quickly to any questions you may have.
