How easy is it to to an Internal Transfer?

Hi,

A few of my friends (who willing be going to Cornell this Fall as Sophomores) are curious to know about internal transferring. Here are the scenarios:

Assuming that they all have VERY FEW applicable credits, (basically starting from scratch):

Arts & Sciences to Engineering

ILR to CALS, specifically AEM (freshman year classes = Macro + Micro Econ)

ILR to Engineering

ILR to Arts & Sciences

CALS to Computer Science

ILR to Computer Sciences

Yeah I'm curious about #1, CAS to Enginerring

ha, looks like my suspicions were somewhat true. There are a lot of ILR freshman who do transfer out...

tun, university released statistics suggest otherwise though.

I know they have stats on changing majors, but do they have stats on switching colleges?

yes, they may be available online.

anyone know how easy it is to transfer though? do some kids take an extra year?

gomestar, where are these stats??? i can usually find stuff but i can't find this

i'm not sure to be exact, usually I just get them in paper from admissions - i thought they were, but they might not be released to the general public.

can you major at two different colleges at cornell, dual degree?

no, you can only be enrolled in one college.

You can get a dual degree program with degrees from two colleges (though I don't think you're actually considered a student at both).

i work at the admissions office. you can do dual degree: CAS with Engineering and CAS with CALS (I believe)

i've never heard of the dual degree between colleges, though I know it's possible to have a concentration or a minor across colleges.

at least, it's possible for ILR students to minor in something in CAS. I'm not 100% sure if it's the same across the board.

since no one believes me, here is the info about CAS dual degree with engineering and AARP:
