<p>you have to attend if you get accepted, you can go somewhere else if you are rejected though, or deferred.</p>
<p>you can do as many EA as you want (unless its single choice like at stanford), but you can only do one ED. EA isn’t binding, ED is.</p>
<p>You can apply to EA (not ED schools, as you’d violate your contract if you got into both) schools as long as that school allows you to apply EA to them while applying ED some place else. I plan on applying to Cornell ED and recently found out from Boston College’s website that I wouldn’t be allowed to apply EA at BC if I’m applying somewhere else ED. So, I won’t be applying to BC EA. No matter, Cornell is my absolute 1st choice anyway.</p>
