Ed/ea

If I ED and EA at the same time, does my chance of being accepted to the college I applied ED decrease? ( something like not really love the ED school like the single school applicants) Does both school know that I applied to one another school?

Is it true that EA school is unlikely to accept me if it know that I also apply ED at another college? What is the point of accepting students who are also accepted by ED because they will go to the ED school?

Does ED increase my chance of being accepted? Because of legacy or recruited athletes and the competitive pool of ED applicants, the admission rate is higher than RD. I had 2150 SAT( will retake) so should I apply for ED cornell? It is my second/third choice after Yale and Penn. But I think I am not qualified enough to apply for Yale /Penn so should I apply to my second choice (Cornell).

no, no

no, n/a

depends on the college, who knows?, Only if you’re willing to go to Cornell and forego applying RD to Yale and Penn

So I can apply for Cornell ED and EA Uchi without worrying that I will be rejected because I apply to other school???

I was under the impression that applying ED means you can’t apply anywhere else until you know you didn’t get in///if the deadline for another school will pass so you have to send it in, but you must withdraw if you get accepted to your ED school.
So isn’t this all moot?

You can apply ED to one school and EA to a million other schools. It doesn’t matter if all of the applications are sent in at the same time; the only thing that applies here is that ED is binding. If you get in ED, you simply withdraw your other pending applications.

And yes, kidloveit. No school you apply to will know which other schools you’ve applied to unless you tell them on the application.
