<p>I know that sounds stupid but I'm pretty lost. I'm going to be a 1st generation college student so I can't ask my mum/dad how college applications work. Also my counselor is not helpful at all. </p>

<p>Make sure you have an SAT/ ACT score and 2 SAT subject tests (or sign up to take them). </p>
<p>Go on Collegeboard.com and check the admissions requirements for the schools you want to apply to. </p>
<p>Complete the CommonApp and do the supplements for those schools.</p>
<p>Don’t forget to do your FAFSA and CSS Profile (if you don’t know what those are, google them). </p>
<p>Get 2 letters of rec from 2 different teachers and another one from your councelor (ask VERY early senior year if they’ll do it for you). </p>
<p>And don’t miss any deadlines!</p>
<p>Also have a plan. Since you don’t seem to have a clue what you’re doing, i’d go with the 9 school program. </p>

<p>If you have no money, ask for fee waivers and apply for local scholarships.</p>
<p>Go to the public library. There are plenty of help books. They may even be e books on the topic available.Go to the other GC at your school. Utilize the books they have in the college center of your hs.</p>
