So when I initially filled out the application I put "undecided" for my first choice college. Now I want to change that and was wondering how... I went to the "change college choice" option but it looks like that is asking for the college you actually plan to attend, not just the first choice college. Is it indeed the place to report your new first choice college or is it where you report where you plan to go? (on the site it says, "This page allows you to inform NMSC of your college choice and career plans.")

Also in terms of the $2500 do they commit that money to the college you have listed on March 28 or do they just tell you that you have won it and you can indicate later which college that should go to?

Thanks and sorry if the questions are a bit confusing...

Etshine: The selection of college choice is just what ever you want to put down right now as your first choice. It does not have to be the one you actually end up attending because you can change that any time before May 1st. So the best thing to do, if you are considering one of the schools with big National Merit packages is to put that school down now so your name will be sent to them from NMSC. Then, if you later decide to go somewhere else, you can just log back in and change your college choice.

On the other hand, if you have already definitely decided, go ahead and put that as your college choice. You do have to have something in by the end of May even for the $2500 NMSC or corporate scholarships so NMSC can verify that you are enrolled at an accredited school and they know where to send the money. However, they do not actually send the money to the school until later in the summer.
