How far are you willing to drive to college?

So I have to transfer to another community college across the country (money), and the closest one to where I'll be living is 45 miles away. Is it worth it? My parents suggested I go to the local state U for the second year of general eds, but I feel like that's a waste of money/going to hurt my chances for transfer.
Would it hurt transfer chances? Should I just suck it up and do the hour commute? It doesn't seem like it would be too bad if I could restrict classes to just two or three days a week..thoughts?

I live about 30 miles away from PCC and it kinda sucks having to drive back and forth, getting up earlier just to drive in traffic to go to school, etc its a real hassle…but what can you do…Gas takes up a lot of money…compare the two options and go with the cheaper one.

Thanks for reminding me about traffic, I don’t even know if that’s a concern…the area I’ll be living in is fairly rural, but I have no idea about anything else.
Thanks for the reply though:)

You need to learn more about that specific commute. In some places, 45 miles is 45 minutes at any time of year. In other places 45 miles takes at least an hour and a half in good weather.
