can any1 tell me specifically about stanford

and also how far taking all IB subjects can go as far as colleges giving credit

i jus noticed i put my SAT at 1410...its 1450, sorry about that

Im considering those even more schools now that i look around these forms:

UMich
Columbia
Stanford
Brown
Cornell
Yale
Johns Hopkins
Duke

this is probably very annoying but PLZ can someone help me out?

Just so you know, colleges don't like to give IB credit. The exception is schools in FL (they are the only ones that appreciate all of our hard work). But you usually have to take the AP equivalent (which is sometimes harder, esp when it comes to sciences and languages).

Oh, and BTW, colleges don't give 2 ****s whether or not you get your diploma. The decisions aren't mailed out until as late as March sometimes! So don't stress about it (I'm not; I've given up on the diploma). Just make sure to keep your grades high and don't kill yourself over your Extended Essay (mine is due in 2 days).

Sorry I don't know anything about those schools, but I do know everything about IB.

thanks curlinterrupted

i didnt know that they dont like IB credits....dangit
but anyways can someone tell me about the schools?

is your 3.92 weighted or unweighted?

unweighted

Cornell and JHU are matches.

Stanford and Yale are reaches.
The rest seem reasonable.

About IB creidts, they are treated pretty much like AP. IB is ranked harder, but the hardest are CL classes (college level). But AP are ranked higher than honors. CL classes are most likely to be transferable if it was from a 4 year institute, while you took them in HS. Alot of schools have a cap of 32 credits, which include AP credits that can be transferred.

Your act is great and your sat is competative :)

if my GPA has somewhat of a decling trend or a "dip" in it, will that have an effect:

1st semester 9th: 3.96
2nd semester 9th: 3.92
1st semester 10th: 3.87
2nd semester 10th: 3.75 <---my "dip"
1st semester 11th: 3.96
2nd semester 11th: 4.0

yeah, they want to see improvement usually (not like 2.0 to 4.0, but like a 3.8 to 4.0 and adding more rigerous classes at the same time).
