So I was just wondering about how good is Bing's Engineering in comparison to the other schools.
I know that people say that Stony Brook is the best in terms of the science field

but is binghamton really that far behind?

What other schools? What type of engineering? It also depends on what the comparisons are. Do you simply mean compared to other SUNYs or other State Universities? Without specifics, it probably makes most sense to go to the rankngs. It is on the US News list of 152 colleges with undergraduate engineering programs. Binghamton is ranked 129. It is viewed on par with University of Dayton, Louisville, UMass-Lowell, and Binghamton but below VCU and Wayne State. SUNY Stony Brook’s engineering is ranked 65. But Stony Brook is rated higher than Binghamton overall so that is not a fair comparison. If you are looking only at public schools and/or SUNY in particular, compared to other public school Binghamton ranks 44. That’s good given there are 50 states and some states take multiple places in the top group.Like California takes a ton of slots. In New York, only Stony Brook and Environmental Sciences is ranked higher. So that means there are about 60 SUNY campuses ranked lower! compared to them, Binghamton is good.
