How good is stanford's premed? [Numbers are WELCOME!!]

Hi,

i am just wondering about the quality of stanford's premeds in comparison to that of HYP, Penn, Columbia, and Duke. I am also wondering about how easy/hard stanford is and the level of grade inflation (like Harvard and Yale or like Princeton).

If you are going to tell me that i should stop worrying and it doesnt matter where you go for premed or that "premed is not a major," i will tell you to take your generic BS somewhere else.

Any numerical data will be very appreciated.

jason, I suspect you’re not going to get many people to do your research for you with warnings about your plans to tell people to “take their generic BS elsewhere”. You’ve come here looking for information and advice, and that attitude is not likely to inspire people to spend time digging up numerical data on your behalf.

if you ask nicely, people will help, but we are not here to do your research for you. you could simply find your own answers quite easily. we are here spending out own time to help you, so please lose the attitude.

stanford’s inflation is upward, but not as heavy as harvard, it is similar to yale. princeton, on the other hand, has deflation.

stanford has no official track, just the required set of courses in Chem, Bio/HumBio, etc.

some classes are difficult and they do weed people out through organic chem classes, but results in med school placement are great.

next time, please take YOUR attitude somewhere else.

and fyi, you should consider a different career because most people want their doctors to be nice people.

and by the way, there is no way to really answer “how hard stanford is”

techie classes have harsher curves than fuzzy classes, but your GPA will not be seriously hurt in any classes if you study.

i hope i do not have the displeasure of meeting you on campus next year :)
