I know they have a pretty good undergraduate business school, but according to Rugg's rankings, WashU isn't in the Tier I list for Economics

Also, Rugg's rankings rank Wesleyan as good at Economics, but would the Economics at Wesleyan have more of a theoretical bent or would it be just like Economics taken at a place like NYU?

Check out the website of WashU Econ department. It is on a recruiting drive. A number of new professors joining are excellent. One is a prominent microeconomic theorist. I bet it will move up on the research ranking soon.
