How good of financial aid will I get?

So I pretty much filled out the information that I needed to turn into my school late about 3 weeks before school starts. They said my financial aid will kick in next Friday 3 days before the first day of school. I got my FAFSA stuff turned in honors the FAFSA deadline. But what really messed me over was getting the documents for the school turned in late. It’s community college and is only going to be 3 gs, my family’s EFC was also 0. I know that certain grants and such are first come first serve, but what are the chances that I will still get some what decent financial aid? I already filled out my COF which covers about $80 for every credit hour so that covers a good portion of it, but would I still get enough financial aid aid to not pay a lot or anything at all?

Are you attending your CC full time? If so, and your EFC is $0, you will, receive the full Pell Grant of $5800 for the year.

I am attending the fall semester full time and then I’m transferring back to UNCO in the spring.

So then I don’t need to worry about really paying anything then?

It looks like it will be fully covered. Call the school FA office and talk to them. They’ll help you

Alright sounds great I already had a talk with them and they said my financial aid should kick I next week. Thanks a lot.

The Pell Grant is an entitlement. If you qualify, you will get it. Ditto for federal subsidized loans. They don’t run out. State and school money and work-study jobs (if you don’t work off-campus already) are first-come-first-served.

Since community college is cheap, you can attend on federal financial aid. When you transfer to a four-year school, the prices go up. You may need state and/or school money. Learn a lesson and don’t be late with your forms next time!
