How hard are Psych 100A/100B?

I'll be a 2nd year next year and recently decided to pursue a psych major along with biz-econ. Since the psych department requires me to finish all the prereqs by end of 2nd year, I want to take some of the premajor courses at a CC this summer, so I'll fulfill those courses but the grade won't transfer.

I know there's a min 2.9 gpa for admittance into psych, but I won't have that many premajor classes to take, so my premajor classes will be that much more important in determining that 2.9. Basically, how hard is psych 100A/100B and which teachers should I take?

100A isn't too too bad if you've had stats experience. the thing is, while stats is rather straightforward on its own, a bad prof and the confusing 100A textbook can be rather unhelpful if you're learning stats for the first time. if you've taken any other disciplined math class and been able to follow along, you'll be fine. if you're easily confused by math and really need a competent teacher, it will be more difficult for you. difficulty also varies with prof, make sure you check bruinwalk.

100B is great for people who like structure. it's insanely well-organized, so all you have to do is keep up with assignments and go to your lab section and don't procrastinate your final project. to some extent a good or bad project group can affect your grade, but the groups are randomly assigned. also, since you have 4 hours of lab a week, make sure to pick a time you will actually GO to. and take the midterm and final seriously- even though the bulk of the work is done in lab, most of your grade comes from lecture (midterm/final). if firstenberg is still teaching 100B next year, you'll be golden, she's amazing.

For 100B:

When they say follow the APA guidelines strictly, follow them STRICTLY. 100B TAs are very picky about your methods, writing, etc.
