and is it really worth taking if i got a 4 on the AP test?

If you do fine in AP test, I suggest that you should take the SAT II b/c they are generally the stuff that AP covers except some questions might be tricky.
SAT II also has a generous curve that can quarentee you at least a 650 if you know you stuff.

compared to other satIItests, sat II chemistry is pretty hard in terms of percentiles.

very very hard....so hard u wanted to cry in the beginning..(if u were like me and didn't realli prep) wish me luck!

i also got a 4 on ap chem but i haven't got my scores back yet for the sat 2 yet. my friend on the other hand got a 4 on the ap and got a 770 on the subject, so id say its worth it

hey guys, i decided to not take chem ap this year, how stupid of me, but i took regular chem last year, so my question is can i get at least a 630 with some studying? because i've already gotten accepted in to my school just want to exempt from taking chem I and getting in to chem II nex year. I don't really remeber the stuff but I'm sure it'll come back to me...

As i said, if you know your thing, you'd have no problem getting at least a 650

My friend got a 3 on AP chem exam, but a 790 on sat II chem....they're worlds apart.

Did he/she take it the same year?

really difficult!

I got a 5 on the AP chem national and a 730 on the SATII

I only got a 4 bio and 760 satII, so that puts it in perspective

However, I finished the class and didnt glance at any chemistry stuff for atleast a month so that was a long period of time with no review which probably made it harder

Pshaw! Id be happy to get a 730.

Is the MC on the AP test very simular to the the SAT II?

I have a feeling I got alot(95 out of 100 or 75/80) right on the AP exam, and screwed up the Open ended

I dont know who discovered what or whatnot though

i got a 5 on the AP and a 760 on the SATII, they were pretty similar it just took me a while to warm up (I took the AP Chem final in the afternoon after the SATII day)

Im still happy with 730, im just saying that Chemistry is my strongest subject yet I got my lowest SAT score on it, so its a really difficult test atleast for my chem knowledge

Test isn't bad, it's the curve that is...

goldfish, he took it the fall semester after chem

i took the regular chem and got 730 last time in oct(oct's test is very hard)
and this time i retook it and should get a 780

Chem is pretty darned hard. Especially with those confusing Assertion-Reason type questions. You need to know how they work or else they'll get you (my chem teacher put assertion-reason questions on his tests. I love him!).

If you get 4 on AP, I say go for it. I got 780 taking Chem honors.

And true, the percentile is very rough.

i took chem for two years, and we didn't even get to acids and bases. needless to say, my teacher sucked. i had a private tutor (a former chem teacher at my school) with whom i spent about 12 hours (every free period). on my practice tests, i got a 550, then a 650. on the real sat ii i got a 720. it's difficult but buy the sparknotes book and study it. honestly, i think if you know that book, you'll get at least a 700. that's what i did, so....

btw sparknote is not a good pre book. lots errors.
