Thinking about a foreign language, its between spanish and chinese. Im a business major and think chinese would be very useful in the future, but have also heard its extremely difficult to learn and do well in

I am a Chinese major and I think I can answer your question. You’re really asking two questions here: 1. Is it hard to learn Chinese? A: Yes it is harder than Spanish or any other language and even harder if you don’t speak it everyday. 2. I know Chinese is a hard language but are the courses at UF particularly hard? A: I studied overseas in China and compared to those classes UF was easy, but the advanced courses can be hard (which is what you need for the major). Any other questions just ask me… But I want to warn you, learning Chinese is a life long goal… it isn’t like Spanish where you can learn it in a year and be set for life. You will never be super good and even if you are it will only take a year or two to lose it. If your concerned about your grades just take Spanish like everyone else.
