just wondering how hard it is to get an A in this class. thanks.

Well, as long as the instructor says "THE STAFF" we really won't know how easy each R5A section is because there is no known instructor. If a name does show up such as Banwell or Dewey, we actually know the answer.

You'll have to wait until the German Department puts out instructors for these courses on the Schedule of Classes. The classes might be taught by new graduate students so their teaching would be an unknown quantity.

It depends on who your instructor is (you can also check pickaprof.com for a bit more insight for each instructor). I had Banwell for Fall '07 and found the class easy (got an A). There were no quizzes or tests, readings weren't too heavy, and essays were graded somewhat leniently.

^^ Hey, I also took German w/ banwell in the fall! Remember when she brought us brownies her mom made?

Such a great class... especially w/ no final

i took it with banwell, and it's a relatively easy A.

beware though, the subject gets repetitive after the first two readings.

Getting a grade of A is really easy... it's getting into the class that's hard.

Teachers like Banwell and Dewey will fill up completely during phase I telebears. In Fall '07 no one from the wait list got in to Banwell's section so signing up early is recommended.

ethancc2 - What section did you have? I don't recall any brownies...?

^^ I took the TuTh 8-9:30 section. It revolved around themes about the Berlin wall.

Ah, there you go. I was in the MWF 10-11 section.
