how hard is it ACTUALLY to get classes

I am choosing between Lewis and Clark College & Santa Cruz.

I like Santa Cruz more, but I have a friend who is a Junior there & she said classes are hard to get, overcrowded, and that they are cutting humanities classes (which are the classes I would mostly be taking).

I'm hesitant to go to Santa Cruz, even though I like it more than Lewis and Clark, because I am nervous that I will end up having to spend 5 years there.

Is it worth it?

It really depends on your major.

I’ve been able to get the classes I need every single quarter. But I’m in the natural sciences.

I have friends in humanities that have all had no problem graduating in 4 years. I even know someone who double majored in psych (extremely difficult to get classes) and history and he’s graduating on time, this quarter.

You need to be prepared when going into picking classes. Don’t wait around until the last minute to choose what you want and have backups. If necessary, talk to the professor ahead of time if you think you’ll have a hard time getting into the class.

Luckily I haven’t had to crash anything, BUT yeah, a lot of people do have to to get the classes they want. So unfortunately (or fortunately I guess) at a private college, you’ll most likely have a much easier time.
