Hi,
I am a current UCSD student who is trying to find a job on-campus. I have applied to different places on campus, from the bookstore to a mail carrier. It's been about 2 weeks and I haven't heard from any of these places. I don't have work study at the moment and most of these places view work study as a plus. Do you think that it's harder to get a job on campus if you don't have work study? I really need a job and since I am in San Diego for now, it would be nice if I were to get one on campus.

Thanks!

i wouldn’t say that it’s necessarily easier. finding a job on campus with or without work study is not easy.
you could also try utc, la jolla village square, and other areas like that since you don’t have work study so you wouldn’t necessarily benefit anymore from having a job on campus besides your own personal preference.

but basically, it’s pretty damn hard. keep trying.

Yeah, I wasn’t trying to make it seem like it was easy to get a job on-campus. Its just frustrating. I have applied to over 10 jobs on campus, and I haven’t heard back from any of them. I wish I could get a no over an email so I can just leave it behind and focus on getting a job somewhere else. But life’s not like that. Haha

hahaha i definitely know what you mean.
i applied to everything, but in spring quarter I finally found a job, at a place that I applied to at the beginning of fall quarter.
but anyways, keep trying and good luck!
