Hello everyone,
I'm new to the site, but I think this is the appropriate place to ask for advice on this subject.

I'm in my senior year of HS, did two semesters of CC and have a 4.0. I did both semesters under liberal arts but I'm going to switch and get an Associate's degree in business administration. I'm not in college this semester (going back in the fall) but I was a Phi Theta Kappa officer while I was there. I'm very concerned about transferring to a four-year and I want to know if getting a full scholarship is a realistic goal. If it is, what else can I do to get one? If you have any advice at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m afraid that most outside and institutional scholarships are for fr admits; merit aid for transfers is less frequent and usually for smaller amounts. A full tuition or full ride (tuition, R&B) is pretty rare for transfers. Go to the Resources sticky thread at the top of the Transfer Students forum, there’s a link to some schools that offer merit scholarships.

Does your community college have any articulation agreements with four year schools? Sometimes community college transfers get aid, but it’s unlikely it would be a full ride.

Did you take all of your CC classes while still in HS in some type of dual-enrollment program? If so, you can apply to most colleges and universities as a freshman applicant PROVIDED you do not take any more CC classes after HS graduation this spring.

If your CC classes are all dual enrollment, scroll down in this forum until you hit the threads on guaranteed merit aid. Some might work for you.

^Glad you caught that, I didn’t!

Thank you all so much.
thumper1- I believe they do, but not with many schools I’m interested in… I’ll have to double-check that.
happymomof1- Yes, I took all of my CC classes while in HS. Thank you for telling me about that, I had no idea! I’m so glad you told me this info-- I was actually planning to go back to CC in the fall after I graduated HS. Thank you again.
entomom- Thank you as well. I’m going to go read those!
