How many years of HS language did you, any of the current students, take in order to pass the four semester language competency test? (French in particular, but we should list all of them for the incoming students)

despite having taken six years of french and scoring a 6 on the higher level ib french exam, barnard wanted me to take the placement test (with ap, you automatically are placed). i placed into the 4th semester of college french, which is not where i should have been considering i didn't learn anything new and got an a+ without trying. i guess the review was good though. i should mention that the placement test was given the friday before classes, which meant i'd been partying all week during orientation and that probably affected my score.

My D, the nonpartier, was talked into a midnight trip to the Copa the night before the exam. It was her birthday, and the other students thought midnight was too early to go back to the dorm. They didn't get in until 3AM.
