Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it. My son just got accepted into UT. He is out of state and not in top 10% of class (very competitive highschool which doesn't rank) so he is very fortunate to get into Texas. However, he was admitted into Liberal Arts as undeclared major. He applied as Architecture major 1st choice and Fine Arts 2nd choice. He only wants to be an Architect - it's been something he has wanted to do since middle school. He was also accepted into Georgia Tech and Tulane (both in Architecture) so it is between these 3 schools. He really likes Texas but I don't think he will attend there if he can't get into Architecture. I have heard that it is harder to transfer into Architecture once there than being accepted as a 1st time Freshman. Can anyone tell me what the chances would be for him transfering into the program once there and who we should talk to, if appropriate? Thanks in advance for the help and congratulations for everyone who was accepted.

i would just call the office of admissions and find out what he needs to do in order to change his major. they might change it for him on the spot and they might not, but those are the people you need to talk to. good luck!

Sounds logical - thanks!
