Transferring from Architecture to Architecture

I am posting this in the Architecture forum as opposed to the Transfers forum because I assume more people have knowledge of specific programs here.

I am currently a second year student in a 5 year Barch program and am looking to transfer to a different program without having to start over. Is this even possible, what programs are accepting to outside architecture transfers, and don't just put them into first year?

My reasoning for this transfer is because although I thoroughly enjoy my major and parts of the architecture program specifically, I really dislike my school itself. I go to a commuter, urban school and I just can't find people with common interests here. I have obviously tried to make it work for 4 semesters and I am still unhappy. I wan't more of a campus life, dorming, and the list goes on...

I disregarded my instincts when "choosing" a college. I wanted a big, state school, sports-oriented feel, but settled for purely financial reasons.

At this point it really feels like my hands are tied and that I have no choice whatsoever.
Any advice would be overwhelmingly appreciated.

I would suggest finding programs that your interested in and calling/emailing the academic adviser for those programs. I’m sure there are some programs that would accept you at the same level or at least ahead of the normal incoming applicant but those are going to be decisions that the specific school has to make. I’m sure a lot of those decisions would be made by your application package and what skills you demonstrate in your portfolio.
