How hard is it to transfer to the following schools from community college?

I got into some of my safety schools, and I want to know how hard it would be if I decide on going to community college and transferring out. If it is just as easy as applying as a first time freshman then I would probably go to community college and then transfer to my safeties (and apply to other reaches) as a second chance.
Assume I’ll have a 3.8 GPA in college, and im going to apply as either an engineering or math major.

Purdue University, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech (got deferred, but still want to know the transfer selectivity), UIUC, USC, U Michigan, and Case Western Reserve. APPLYING TO ALL AS EITHER A MATH OR ENGINEERING MAJOR. thank you

Look up the Common Data Set for each, section D for transfers (section C shows admission results for first time freshmen).

@"Erin’s Dad"‌ the common data set wont show me the GPA of transfer students accepted. it only gives me the acceptance rates. only the first time freshman (section C) section gives me SAT scores and gpa. is there any other website i can use to find the average gpa’s of transfer students.

@finallyfree‌

Transfer acceptance rates tend to be deceitful because almost every public university gives priority to in state students, particularily those who attend community college. Here’s a ranking of difficulty based of type of school and location (1 - easiest, 5 - hardest)

  1. In state community college
  2. In state 4 year university
  3. Out of state 4 year university
  4. Out of state community college
  5. International applicants

Are you in state for any of those schools? Of so, there may be some sort of articulation agreement between both schools systems that may guarantee acceptance if you meet certain credentials.

@AnEpicIndian‌ yes, i am instate for UCLA and i know that my local college has a transfer articulation program. are you saying that getting into a school like purdue will be challenging (if i assume i get a 3.8 college gpa and close to no extra curriculars?). i just got accepted as a freshman with a 3.75 UW and a 2130 sat score with few EC’s, but i dont want to go there cause i thought i can get into trhough community college while saving money. so will schools like purdue and UIUC be harder to get in through a california community college than getting in as a first time freshman?

As noted by AnEpicIndian you’re unlikely (even with a stellar California CC transcript) to successfully transfer to a public OOS university. If you decide on taking the CC route focus on the CA UCs as the transfer colleges. The UCs are very supportive of CC transfers with good grades. You may find 2 years at a CC to be socially and as a result academically challenging. You will very likely encounter many unmotivated students. An alternative is a CSU, perhaps one to which you can commute.

Beware that Michigan (especially its engineering division) is very stingy with transfer credit, according to its course articulation listings at http://www.ugadmiss.umich.edu/TCE/Public/CT_TCESearch.aspx . For example, few math courses taken at California CCs are accepted as equivalent to Michigan courses, so if you transfer there, you may have to retake much of the course work you took at CC.

Transfer credit from California CCs is better and well defined on http://www.assist.org for UCs and CSUs.

You will save even more money to transfer instate and not pay OOS rates. What are you thinking? Transfers get little to no aid most places. Also you could lose credits and many schools won’t transfer accept everything.

If you are low income the UCs should give you a good financial package. Take it. Engineering is better to start at the 4 year. Maybe math too if you are advanced.

Like UC USC takes a lot of CCC transfers.

@BrownParent‌ my parents can afford college. i stated in a previous thread that I got deferred from most of my top schools (the only school i got accepted into so far is purdue). i got deferred from case wetesrn, georgia tech, and u michigan. my UC gpa is low, so im not expecting much for the UC’s now. im deciding whether I should go to community college and transfer out (IF i get rejected from my other colleges). my question was how hard would it be to get into schools i already got into so far (like purudue, and prolly virginia tech). going to CC will save me about 40k (not that the money matters), but i will also have a second chance at schools like the UC’s. I am not too advanced in math (im only in calc BC right now and im a senior). also i am doing dual enrollment, so by the end of this year, I will have about 65 quarter credits. I would only stay for another year (i would start applying to schools starting next school year).
