My friend might want to switch from Chemistry to Music Industry major with an emphasis on music performance. He plays the piano. Is it as hard as getting in Thornton as a Music Performance major? What is the minimum GPA requirement? Thank you!

Why don’t you or your friend walk over to Thornton and ask?

There’s no such thing as Music Industry with an emphasis on piano performance. In the Music Industry program, you either do a BS (emphasis on audio engineering and recording) or a BM (less audio engineering with a performance element). I’m assuming you mean the latter? No “emphasis” here; he’d still have to take all the business-oriented classes.

I assume for the BM he’ll have to audition; the GPA requirement for a MUIN minor is something like a 2.5, so I assume for the major it’s similar.
