What is needed to transfer to UCLA? stats, etc...

Thanks

depends on majore/department/school, etc.

people have gotten in with the bare minimum, and some had above average stats and have been rejected.

for example:
3.0 for chem with no ECs
3.2 for EE no ECs
3.5 for ME
etc.

Nothing compared to HS--->UCLA with a lot of AP and ECs and community service and gay crap like that

Huskies? UW?

I've heard that the transfer rate is really high, but the majority of them are CC students

Generally most people I know that got in as a transfer have about a 3.7. Though you can make it in with a 3.5. ECs? Not so important unless you're biz econ.

Coffeebreak - how do u know? Ur not Biz econ major
;)

hmmm, em interesting. How would you know what major I am?

facebook? directory lookup? old fashioned stalking?

I know ur a math major
I know this coz I'm smart
;)

she is a spy and she may be in biz econ lol

I am indeed a spy
I'm an asian girl disguised as another asain girl

are u a philosopher or am I an idiot that I can't understand what u said at all ^_^. I think I know who u are emiko.... right ? hehe

right the second time, you're an idiot

Mr Puppet, you, Sir, are an idiot.

stay out of it!

s_dragon
do i know u?
do u know me?

BTW it is worth keeping in mind that you can't transfer into UCLA as a sophomore; they only accept transfers who will be juniors.

^ you can transfer after one year at a community college. I have met people who have done that, and they call themselves 2nd years with junior standing. either way they'll stay at ucla for 3 years.

to emucla: I know you, but I don't really know you by the "know" definition.

not really, I have a friend he transfered to LA after one year at college, and he only stayed at LA for 2 years. So, it depends one them whether they want to stay an extra year of not.

who r u???

grasspuppet, you have to be a junior to xfer to ucla. Your class year is defined not by how many years you've spent enrolled in colleges, but by how many units you have.

As for xfers from CC's, that's the preferred route to the UC system as a xfer and they get preference. For those you know who spent 1 year at a CC and then xfered, the only way to do that is to have a lot of AP credit. While AP credit counts towards determining your class year, the regs provide a loophole. They say that units from AP credit don't count towards the limits of how many units you have before you must declare a major or graduate. At the end of this quarter, BTW, many frosh are going to find that UCLA considers them sophomores according to units and they'll get that priority in registering for classes. If you merely enroll at a CC out of HS w/o AP units and kill yourself thru summer sessions and heavy courseloads to get enough units to be a junior and attend a UC school after 1 year, all those units count towards the limits and you'll only have 2 years left at the UC.
