i got in with a 27act and 1830 sat

I know a few people from my school who got in with a 25-27 ACT, and a high HS GPA, but half of the classes were actually supposed to be taken a year before. Often people that got in didn't take any APs. The ones that did, took 6-7 of them.

So if your out of state, how early should you apply? October?

bunny- if i were you (im thinking you are a junior) i would seriously start writing my essays as soon as you can start to apply. i think this was in mid-august. i regret not applying earlier and putting off my application SO MUCH. besides the fact that it is much more competitive now, i had to stress about not having my app done for like 2 months during school, and now i am stressing about whether or not i got in. i'm still waiting. applying early is your best bet, i cannot stress it enough.

Rule of thumb is submit app before Thanksgiving. Chances of acceptance is significantly higher, esp if u are instate. So..get your ACT's or SAT's done with by end of junior year, and get your teacher/counselor rec packets to your teachers day 1 of senior year because your app is not complete till your entire portfolio is completed.

I have a 3.8 UM GPA and a 2100 on my SATs. By the end of my Senior year, I'll have taken 6 APs and 6 college level courses that are offered at my school and are given equal weight as APs. I believe the max number of APs that the future Ivy-Leaguers at my school take are about 8. I sent in my application mid-December and it was complete around January 10th. Any ideas what my chances are? I'm out of state, also.

My son got in with 2270 SAT, 3.6 UM GPA, and 7 AP's.
