I need to take the SAT biology test to get enough science related tests for engineering at Northwestern :p

I took biology two years ago, but our teacher was awful. Since it's a really small school, we don't have AP classes or anything. So I'm going to be self-studying from Barrons, and I'll pretty much have to relearn everything.

With this in mind, would it really be worth it to take the test and risk getting an awful score? I think I could maybe get an decent score if I study a lot, but I also have no clue how hard it will be. Is it entirely impossible to get a good score having such a sketchy biology background?

Very easy. I took honors biology in 9th grade, didn't study over the summer, took the Biology E test in October and got a 750. That's mainly because my teacher was also a football coach and taught us biology like he taught us football. But most of the questions are pretty obvious if you understand the material. Just read a little bit of the princeton review guide, the official collegeboard guide, or the Kaplan guide everyday, do a few tests, and give it a try!

it's not too bad.
i took bio M freshman year in the spring without knowing all the materials and got a 700, which is pretty solid, i think. but then again, this is CC. haha

It's not bad as long as you can memorize well and have a generally good background in biology. I would recommend Barron's. 800 is really 99th percentile, I thought it was like 97...?? Score.

Just because it's the easiest science SAT II doesn't mean it's easy to get a 800 on, haha. Just in comparison to Chem and Physics, the Biology exam is easier. I took it on a whim without looking at any review materials (actually I hadn't looked at anything Biology-related since freshman year) and got a 710, which wasn't too bad.

I thought I got killed but ended up with a 750. The curve is kinda nice, I think. Oh, FYI, if you ever take the online Sparknotes one... the real thing's a LOT harder.

It was harder for me because I thought the materials tested were so RANDOM and obscure.

Actually not really. I took AP Bio, and I took the AP in May and then took SAT US History and Biology M in June. I didn't study for Biology at all and got a 750. I got a 5 on the AP though so it wasn't like I was unprepared.

I don't think that any of the Sat subjects tests are hard or easy. It depends more on your knowledge of the particular subject. If you are good in Biology then you should not find it hard. And what may be hard for someone can always be easier for another. So it is totally on how you interpret the test.

I got 770 Bio M, 730 Bio E (didn't study at all.)
Since I have to study biology for the Olympiad next year, I'm planning on retaking, but only if I have room.
And yes, it's pretty easy- easiest science Subject, as stated above. I'd recommend Barron's (and Cliffs for the actual AP test, which is even easier.)

for those who are not sure... take the practice questions. SAT Subject Test in Biology
I did pretty well with general knowledge from AP environmental
