how hard is the SATII chinese

does anybody know?
is there any writing required?
someone please tell me what level is the test?
i went to chinese school when i was in first grade
but i can read a full length chinese novel
and write the most commonly used words
is that good enough?

SATII Chinese is extremely easy if you are a native Chinese speaker. There is no writing required, and I guess if you have around a 2nd or 3rd grade Chinese school level you will get an 800 if you do not make stupid mistakes. If you can read a full length chinese novel (adult), then you will have no problem. You do need to be somewhat proficient at listening though, but if you have a Chinese family, you will do great. As for writing, there's no need for it, as I said before. Just reading and listening is good enough.

ps. Even if you can't recognize some characters (but shouldn't be likely, since the characters on it are quite easy), there's also pingyin and chinese phonics (chu-ing-foo-hao) to aid you.

thanks for the information ^^
and also for the listening part do you bring any listening device for it?
and they speak mandrain to you right?

You have to provide your own cassette player, but they'll give you the cassette. Make sure your player works!!

Yes, the listening portion is in Mandarin (with somewhat of a Beijing accent) =P.

VERY EASY. If you can read 30% of a newspaper you are set.

Don't take Chinese, even with an 800 you don't look good. And if you get less than a 800, you look ****ty, because 50% of the people that take it get an 800, and I am not even kidding.
