Does this kill me? FYI, math and physics double major.

it's impossible at mcgill

max is like 18....tat ifself is a killer...

i did 12 my first semester

I thought the max was 20 (usually). But it doesn't matter. Math and physics double major can be done without requiring an extra semester by taking 15 credits per semester (the normal course load). But the Physics department isn't accommodating, so plan your schedule carefully (e.g., you don't want to end up taking an extra semester because you didn't realize some required course you're missing is only offered in the fall).

I heard that I can take over 20 credits after getting department's permission.
The reason that I want to take the course this much is
1. I want to take many graduate courses(500-).
2. I want to take some CS courses.

Anyway, thanks to all.

I've known one person to take 8-9 courses a semesters at times, but with Minerva this would be much harder to do nowadays (not so easy to register for conflicting courses and courses without the pre-reqs). You have to be insanely smart and pretty much forego any social life to pull that off.

Besides, few people actually stick to a double major (or, especially, double honours). Many eventually just settle for a single major with a minor, as they realize they really are interested in one subject more than the other.

My son took16.5 credits each semester of last year and it was difficult perhaps because of the subject matter.
He is planning on taking 15 credits each semester next year and perhaps a "summer" course of six credits in May.
McGill is not an easy school.
