I ended up changing my career goals OTL I’m even considering transferring after a year or two //shot
If I could, I’d want to change my major to International Studies and get a minor in Korean Lang and Lit because I want to go into International business one day. My current major is Korean L/L, but since the two are in different schools I’m worried that it won’t be allowed. Can anybody shed some light on this for me? Would I want to do this before orientation?
For most schools, you need to be enrolled on order to change your major. But, that’s OK because, there is no real need to change before your start. Your freshman schedule will be very GE heavy - even waiting an entire year won’t delay your graduation. You can choose courses that will satisfy your desired major - without making the change. Once you are on campus, you’ll need to follow whatever specific procedure they have. It typically involves talking to an academic advisor and filling out a form. Sometimes, you need a specific list of pre-reqs and a GPA.
UCI has an outstanding business program - i don’t know why you’d want to transfer
Okay, thank you.
The desire to transfer deals with personal issues with a person who has stalked me enough to merit a restraining order. They live in SoCal, and I didn’t know how bad it was until after I had SIR’d, so I’m antsy about being so close to them.
Your personal safety is a valid reason to change schools. So Cal is huge, hopefully this person respects the court order and you get to stay.
Good luck.
