See, I transferred to UCI this fall as a Business Econ major.
I attended the first few lectures, and I realized that it was way too complicated and hard for me.

I want to switch my major, but it's already Week 1, and I've already paid for tuition and books. Do I still have a chance of changing the major and taking new courses this fall quarter?

I emailed UCI, and they said that to switch to a Psychology major, I have to complete the Change of Major Requirements, and come talk to a counselor tomorrow to see if I can change my schedule so I can complete said Requirements.

I'm asking you guys, because I'm really anxious: Do I have a chance to change my fall schedule?

Yes, you can switch to another major, as long as you meet the prerequisites and major requirements for that major. Not sure for UCI, but it is also better if your major is in the same school as your current major, but yeah shouldn’t be a big deal from econ/business to psychology. If you were changing to a whole different major like engineering, then no way UCI would let you switch.

Also, if you plan on switching/changing your fall schedule, you better change it fast. I believe after 2 weeks after the first day of the semester, you can only drop classes and get a W on your record, and you can’t add anymore classes.

Yeah, I am going to the counselor tomorrow to see if I can change my fall schedule. Classes only started on 9/26, and I’m hoping they will still let me add.

I just hope that they will not put a W on my transcript, and will give me a refund for the books and tuition.

If I do get into the Psychology major, I also plan to minor in Accounting. Hopefully, that will get me a good job. I may not have liked Econ very much, but I’m still interested in Accounting.
