I think I got every multiple choice question right for the grammar/writing section. However, my essay was not great because I didn't do an amazing job at defining my terms. If I get an 100% on the multiple choice, but a 9 on the essay, is there a chance I still receive an 800?</p>
<p>if the curve is generous, then yes. for an 800 the lowest essay score you can get for a perfect multiple choice score is a 9.

<p>Usually do essays get graded higher than a 9 if they have a good format and decent ideas with vocabulary?</p>
<p>If you filled up both pages your bound for at least a 10 unless you did not answer the topic (talked about irrelevant stuff).</p>

<p>I say you should be fine. My SAT essay was pretty terrible IMO. I filled up everything except one line and stayed on topic with three semi-relevant examples and got a ten. Man I envy you, a perfect MC is like a far reach for me because I always miss five…</p>
