How high does my SAT have to be for a 3.53 unweighted/4.09 weighted GPA?

My unweighted GPA is 3.53 and my weighted is 4.09. How high does my SAT score have to be to almost guarantee admission? I'm a junior right now but if I do just as good this year as I did last year then my unweighted will go up to 3.6 and my weighted will go up to 4.19.

Around 2000 will be fine. The more the better. But there is also an Academic Index…I’m not sure how they calculate it or even if they do calculate it at all…

Is 2000 the minimum I have to get? Or will I still get in if I get an 1800?

1800 is fine for general admission. And AI is not used in non-competitive (read: non Ivy-Caliber) schools.

So would you guys say my GPA for College Park is average? And if I got like a 1700 or anything like that I wouldn’t get accepted?

There is no “formula” for admission. At UMCP (at least this is what their website and all of my teachers have told me) they take a wide range of factors into account when accepting people. They are looking for certain types of people, and its not like CA or CO schools where if you meet a certain criteria then you are guaranteed admission. On my schools Naviance, the scatterplot of acceptance data shows some people with 2.5 and a 1500 on the sat’s got in yet someone with a 3.7 and a 1800 did not get in. Its like that all over the graph, with denials and acceptances on the same spot.

However, it gets pretty uniform as the graph goes higher, most everyone is accepted.
