How hot is Rice/Houston area?

Come one, there are bugs everywhere. Houston sprays the whole city, and that keeps the population down. You can hear the trucks in the middle of the night sometimes, only if you aren't asleep then. Snakes - yes, but they stay away from the concrete streets and urban centers, and I have never seen one there. I live in the burbs and sometimes you might see one near the creek. There is no creek at Rice. You are safe. Remember, millions of people live here, and survive. You will, too.

evitakr1, I know! I know! millions people do live in Texas but there are people that are afraid of earthquake too and millions live here too.It just what one is used to.(lol)
By the way the recent heavy rain in California has increased the rodent population and there are more rattle snakes in coastal area like Laguna Beach, etc..

it prompted me to seriously consider moving back to California, where the dry heat seems to kill most things, only fruits and nuts(lol) survive.
