How I raised my SAT score by 790 points-My story

well well, that is great.Wish you best of luck. @cptjosh787

Where did you find 25 previously administered tests???

Hi @spuding102 ! I scored 1930 on my first trial - should I do a section per day to reach the same score as yours? I hope to get a score similar to yours as soon as possible. What do you advise me to do?

Hey! So right now I have a 1770 SAT score…which is not good. I’ve been reviewing SAT over the summer, do you think I could get a 2000+ by October? It’s my second (and last) chance of SATs before I apply to college. Do you have any tips for me on how to raise my score like you did?

I’d also like to know good practice exams you can find online of the current SAT. I’m a rising junior who wants to take the old version of the SAT and would like practice with real/old tests, I found a few released ones and have gone through the majority of the ones in my practice books and now I’m kinda scrambling :-?

do you guys have any tips to do the CR section? I have never broken through 700 on the CR altho I always feel that I understand most of the question and should get at least 720 or so…

Hey guys if anyone can help me, please do. The thing is i have been practicing alot and really alot, even though i have improved my score in writting and in maths i cant increase my score in CR it stays between 500-600 whatever i do it dosenot increase and the thing is I am usualy a high achiever in my class and many students way beneath my Alevels scores are getting way more score than I do, i have no idea wherer i am getting wroong i really need your help guys as my target was somewhere near 2100 and i cant even get close to 2000.

@martinso I’m in the same boat with you… Same thing happened to me and it’s still occurring.

The thing that really depresses me is that when way low graders even score morer than I do.Dose that happen to you too

You really encourged me. Did you take SAT subject tests? Are they VERY important?

yes me too it kinda of sucks since i try so hard in school and do horrible on the SAT @martinso

i think it will be changed around March 2016

Motivated but I guess the tremendous efforts you put are not happy with your scores yet. Great job though. I must say. :)>-

This thread helped me raise my score 300 points. Thank goodness I found it this summer so I could start studying for the SAT in October.

Sorry for the major bump, but did anyone else who tried spud’s method use the powerscore LSAT RC Bible? This is the only LSAT RC available in my local bookshop (so I can see it’s contents), but I did find other alternative RC books on amazon (ironically enough, when I looked up exam krackers LSAT RC it asked if I wanted to combine this book with the SAT Direct Hits with Erica Weltzer’s SAT Grammar Book). I’m just not sure which LSAT RC book I should use, but the powerscore book literally is a bible in length, and so are most others.

i m struggling to get 700s… i usually get 640 to 670 range in cr… i m doing 6 to 8 sections a day… can you give me any guide spuding?

The New SAT is actually substantially EASIER than the former. Class of 2016, I feel bad for you- th last guys to take the SAT with the encumbering essay portion+writing. Oh well, at least as of now you have more to help you prepare.

Hey everyone, I found this article was sooo helpful when I was figuring things out too: http://www.collegecultured.com/2015/08/28/my-sat-experience/

this person scored a 2260!

There was also this one about the critical reading section too: http://www.collegecultured.com/2015/12/23/scored-790-critical-reading-section-sat/

@VishFish101 I don’t follow. Isn’t it all relative? Or does the difficulty mean that everyone studies harder? w/e
