<p>Can’t you simply leave the “Any colleges you want your score to be reported to?” Category blank, prior to taking the test? Then, after you have applied to a school and they specifically ask for your scores, submit them at that point?
From what I’ve heard, you can send or delete your score, any time after you’ve taken the test…is this not in fact true? (If it isn’t, please do say so!)</p>

<p>Always be suspicious of absolute statements like this one. Nothing on your college application is useless, least of all high AP scores, which indicate that you are capable of doing college-level work. Needless to say, evidence of that is very important to admissions committees.</p>

<p>The AP test is not the point of an AP class. The material you learn is the point. The test indicates that you understood the material well enough to deserve to be exempted from one or more college classes because of it. However, a candidate who has taken AP classes will be looked upon more favorably than a candidate who has not, regardless of whether he has test scores or how high they are.</p>
