How important are AP tests for college admissions?

<p>After I dropped Ap En Sci my junior year, I took "Environmental Science" at my CC during my junior year, as the CC class was MUCH easier than the AP class at school. I am applying to ivy's.</p>

<p>Should I still take the AP En Sci ap test ( I would probably get a 4) to demonstrate to colleges that I know the material well? I heard that some colleges that are good like Rice and Duke consider classes taken at CC to be equivalent to honors courses, so the AP test should be taken and I should get a 5 to prove my understanding. Other people have said CC classes are college level so there is no reason to take AP test. What is your take on this?</p>

<p>If you did not cover the precise material in your Envir Sci class that is covered on the AP exam, you will not be prepared for it. You have taken a real college class. Stop fretting about this. Save your money. </p>
