I’m currently applying Princeton SCEA with an interest in Engineering. I was wondering how important subject tests are weighted in acceptance? I’m worried, since I have an 800 in Math 2, a 720 in Physics, and a 740 in Literature. Does this put me at a disadvantage?
Princeton rejects 94% of applicants, most of whom are well-qualified. You were at a disadvantage the moment you pressed the submit button. What’s done is done at this point. What more do you really want people to say?
Subject test scores are one data point in an application. That said: 1) it seems you have already decided to apply SCEA to Princeton so give it your all and stop worrying about something that can’t be changed at this point; 2) on the common data set Princeton considers standardized test scores as “very important”; and 3) as noted above Princeton has an acceptance rate in the single digits and should be considered a reach for any unhooked applicant.
