how important are the SAT's?

i'm an art student and i want to go to an art college but when i go so some of the college websites there are many that do not require SAT's or ACT's.
Does a college that doesn't require them still a good college?

And i'm also trying to figure out how important SAT's are especially when it comes to art schools

i know a person who graduated from my school last year that got into SCAD.
his portfolio was really good and he was an honor student, and in visual art magnet (so am i)
I ask about his SAt scores and i got below standerd but still made it into SCAD with many scholorships. How is that?

i brother had the same thing going for him. He got into college with bad SAT scores but with scholorships but that was based on talent.

so how important are SAT's when it comes to art schools or any school?

I believe for art schools that the portfolio/talent is much more important than GPA and SATs.. although I think RISD puts emphasis in both.

Just because you have amazing SATs doesn't mean you will be an amazing painter/sculptor/etc. If that makes sense. XD

so i shouldn't worry so much about them?

if a college doesn't require them are they still a good college?

If an art school doesn't require or care about the SATs, it doesn't mean it's not a good school. Their focus is art! Stop worrying.
