how important is chemistry for admission?

my friend who has never taken, and doesn't want to take chemistry still wants to attend a good college, such as a top LAC, but doesn't want to take chemistry. If he takes 2 biology and 1 physics class will he be ok? and he says that he wants to major something in the humanities, he didn't specify.

Probably, but your friend needs to check the requirements of the colleges he is looking at. Requirements may reveal something important. It's good to get these problems squared away now, before you sign up for junior/senior classes.

bump? bump bump

A lot of colleges require Chemistry, so your friend better check the requirements for each college he/she wants to attend.

I never took chemistry (or precalc) and was admitted to 9/10 schools, including top LACs, so it's not a huge deal, just make sure that your application is strong in other areas.

It's not so much chemistry as "the most rigorous courseload possible."

I never took chemistry, and was admitted to every school to which I applied, including some very good schools. As long as he doesn't want to be a chem major, he should be fine.
