I am a junior who takes IB HL courses in English, History, and Latin and IB SL courses in math, sciences, and economics. Will it hurt my chances at Ivies or top tier LACs if I take IB Environmental Systems instead of IB Physics in my senior year? My primary interest is Classics, and I scored high in my sophomore year on the Latin SAT II. Any other focus will be humanities related, but is physics necessary to get there; especially, when personally environmental systems seems so relevant?

My advice would be, if you like environmental systems, take it. Due to scheduling problems, I had to choose between IB physics and biology, and I picked biology. I don't think taking one IB science over another would affect your chances.

You're not planning a degree in science or engineering, so it's fine. However, if you have any intention of all of studying these fields, you'll need to take Physics IBS at the very least (IBH is better)/

Good luck.

IB Physics is hard stuff. I would go with what your gut tells you.
